Kaplow announces partnership with southeast Michigan program of leave a legacy

Robert Kaplow has become a community partner of the Southeast Michigan Program of LEAVE A LEGACY. By doing so, Rob has further maintained his commitment to the community by supporting and promoting the need for employees and citizens to leave a charitable bequest in their will or estate plan. Founded in 1997, the Southeast Michigan Chapter of LEAVE A LEGACY is a campaign conducted by the National Committee on Planned Giving to inspire people to make charitable bequests, a type of planned gift to be distributed sometime in the future to a charity meaningful to the donor. LEAVE A LEGACY is a national broad based community campaign that involves numerous types of non-profit groups and is conducted by professionals who assist donors with charitable estate planning.

Lax completed term on IRS Advisory Committee

Chuck Lax has completed his 3-year term as a member of the IRS Advisory Committee, the “Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt Entities and Government Entities (“ACT”).” This is an IRS committee that was formed to provide an organized public forum for discussion of relevant issues to enable the IRS to receive regular input with respect to the development and implementation of tax administration issues. Additionally, Chuck was the project leader of a 46-page report presented to the IRS entitled “Improving Compliance for Adopters of Pre-Approved Plans.” As part of this committee work, Chuck interacted with the highest executives of the Internal Revenue Service.
