Michigan Lawyers Weekly Names Sheryl K. Silberstein to Its 2023 “Influential Women of Law” Class

08.07.23

Maddin Hauser is thrilled to announce that Michigan Lawyers Weekly selected shareholder Sheryl K. Silberstein for its “Influential Women of Law” 2023 class.

The awards program honors women attorneys and judges for their excellent work for the justice system and their clients, their commitment to their communities, and their service to the profession. Inspiring and accomplished leaders, the honorees serve as mentors and contribute time to volunteerism and pro bono initiatives.

What Makes Sheryl an Influential Woman of Law?

Sheryl K. Silberstein is a commercial real estate lawyer who, for more than 36 years, has helped to minimize her clients’ risks and protect their interests. A shareholder, Sheryl joined the firm in 2000 after practicing in the real estate industry’s corporate sector. Her commercial real estate practice includes financing, acquisitions, sales, and development of shopping centers, multi-family, industrial, and office properties. She handles leasing, zoning and land use matters, and residential real estate transactions.

For Sheryl, the most rewarding part of commercial real estate law is engaging with people on both sides of transactions, whether the purchase end or the sale end. She finds it extremely rewarding to help her clients reach their ultimate goals, whether buying a new building or a new residence or selling a building or a house. Sheryl recognizes that commercial real estate law, like any industry, has its challenges – and she deftly navigates those challenges to help her clients succeed.

Giving to Her Community

For more than three decades, Sheryl has been a force to be reckoned with in commercial real estate law. But in addition to her legal work, Sheryl especially enjoys helping Maddin Hauser’s younger associates navigate the ins and outs of the firm. She often shares pointers, advice, and encouragement. As an accomplished attorney and leader, she is very connected to the firm and invested in the success of its people.

Sheryl is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the REAL Professionals Network (RPN), an invitation-only business network for veteran commercial real estate professionals. RPN members, including Sheryl, maintain business relationships with experts in commercial real estate and development disciplines nationwide.

Sheryl regularly supports various nonprofits and organizations. When she retires –a few years from now – she plans to play a more prominent volunteer role in her community. She also devotes significant time to her demanding work, her husband, Mat, and their blended families.
