Detroit Legal News Profiles Andrew Harris
In a recently published feature, Detroit Legal News interviewed Shareholder Andrew M. Harris to discuss his new role as Oakland County Bar Foundation president. Andy assumed the role of president in July 2025. The article highlights his longstanding commitment to service, not only to his clients but also to the greater community.
Through his leadership with the OCBF, Andy has furthered the foundation’s mission of increasing access to legal services and making them more affordable for those who otherwise lack the means to afford quality representation. He has also been an active member of the OCBA for many years, developing and participating in a wide range of programming, assuming several leadership roles, and contributing his time and efforts to numerous important initiatives. In 2025, Andy was honored with the Oakland County Bar Association’s Distinguished Service Award.
Outside of his public service and community involvement, Andy is an accomplished and respected litigator. He focuses his advocacy on real estate and commercial litigation matters and handles cases involving state tax issues, insurance, and the defense of professional negligence claims. Andy is well-versed in complex commercial, industrial, and residential leasing matters. He works closely with landlords and tenants to craft commercially favorable leases, laying the foundation for stable, mutually beneficial relationships between lessors and lessees. Andy complements his litigation and real estate practices with his work as a civil/real estate licensed mediator, where he helps parties efficiently resolve disputes and avoid protracted litigation.
