Maddin on the Move – Q&A Series With Andrew Creal
With Maddin Hauser having moved offices for the first time in 38 years and on the cusp of the firm’s 100th anniversary, our attorneys reflect on our proud history, their professional journeys, and what the future holds for the firm and its clients.
Today, we chat with Andrew Creal, an associate in our Complex Litigation and Risk Advisory group who handles business and real estate matters, including general business and contractual disputes.
Q: Tell me about your practice and how long you’ve been with Maddin Hauser. What attracted you to the firm, and what do you value or appreciate most about working at MH?
A: I joined Maddin Hauser just over a year ago. It was an opportunity I was excited about at the time, and my enthusiasm for the firm and its people has been validated many times over. As a litigator, I have the opportunity to work with brilliant attorneys from a wide range of practice areas. This diversity of talent and backgrounds not only helps me be a better lawyer, but it makes the firm a true one-stop shop for any needs my clients have.
I am also impressed and grateful that the firm walks the walk when it comes to business development. The investment of time, effort, and resources to help attorneys build and grow their practices is an aspect of Maddin Hauser that I am grateful for and have done my best to embrace. This kind of commitment is part of why so many attorneys spend their whole careers here.
Q: The firm launched an important initiative in 2023, The Maddin Hauser Way, which clearly defines everyone’s shared values and practices that are the foundation of the firm’s culture. Recognizing that they all are vital, is there one that has more greatly influenced or impacted your practice?
A: “Be a Proud Ambassador.” That reflects what I genuinely feel about being a part of this firm: proud. I am proud to be here; I am proud to tell people about the firm and my role in it. The integrity and professionalism of our attorneys and staff is unmatched, and I am proud to recommend the firm to anyone who is seeking exceptional representation.
Q: The firm has just moved into its new office space. What aspect of this move are you most excited about?
A: It is so much brighter and larger than our old space. The attorneys are also all on one floor, which facilitates the collaboration and camaraderie that is so important here. But there is an inherent aspect of the new office – its state-of-the-art technology and design – that reflects the firm’s commitment to the future and everything we strive to be.
Q: Maddin Hauser will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. If you had a crystal ball, what would you see in the firm’s future?
A: I see in the future a continuance of what I live day-to-day right now. A firm whose leadership sets the example and builds on the legacy of professional excellence and service to clients that our founders established. A community of lawyers that the next generation of leaders and business developers want to follow and expand on. I look at my peers, associates, and younger partners, and to a person, we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to be part of this proud tradition. We look forward to everything the future holds for Maddin Hauser, and hope to have a small part in the firm’s continued success.
