KIM RATTET, Counsel, is a member of the Firm’s Financial Services and Real Property Litigation Group. With a background that blends sophisticated legal insight with entrepreneurial experience, she approaches every matter with discipline and a focus on long-term value, efficiency, and clarity. In guiding clients through disputes, her philosophy is simple: meet the client’s goals with the least disruption and the greatest impact. Her pragmatic, results-driven advocacy enables clients to evaluate risks effectively while minimizing cost and uncertainty when involved in complex bankruptcies, litigation, creditor rights enforcement, and other contested matters.
A relentless and dedicated advocate, she is committed to resolving disputes efficiently, yet she is fully prepared to litigate when necessary. She has safeguarded, protected, and advanced the interests of mortgage servicers, banks, credit unions, investor groups, commercial and multifamily property owners, and individual entrepreneurs in Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings. Her experience also encompasses a broad range of related real estate, automotive, and unsecured-creditor finance matters, including default servicing, commercial and residential litigation, proofs of claim, Rule 2004 examinations, property surrender issues, collateral recovery, loan workouts, sale motions, and dismissal motions.
Before joining Maddin Hauser, Kim’s tenure with a Chapter 13 Trustee’s Office provided a 360-degree insight into bankruptcy administration, fiduciary duties, and complex case management. As a Staff Attorney to one of the busiest and most well-respected Trustees in the nation, she supported the Trustee in fulfilling all obligations under the United States Bankruptcy Code, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and directives of the Bankruptcy Court to the highest level of diligence, judgment, and integrity.
Kim’s clients are not the only ones who benefit from her deep subject-matter knowledge. A former board member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Association, she remains active within the bankruptcy bar, volunteering her time to promote, refine, and enhance practices and policies that better serve the bar and the public.
