DAVID H. FREEDMAN, shareholder, concentrates his practice in these four groups: Corporate and Business, Real Estate, Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Debtor-Creditor Rights, and Financial Services and Real Property Litigation. David counsels clients on a wide variety of corporate, business, and real estate matters with an emphasis on broad-based transactional and contract work. His seasoned expertise in handling all phases of commercial transactions and his meticulous attention to detail are widely respected.

David’s practice involves all types of business and related transactions. They include corporate governance; counseling clients on building, growing, and selling their businesses; structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and closing of complex documents and transactions; buying and selling assets, real estate or business interests; and mergers and acquisitions.

David represents mortgage industry clients in mergers and acquisitions, which often involve unique issues relating to multiple branches, state and federal regulatory requirements, licensing, investor relationships, warehouse credit lines, integration of technology platforms, transfer of confidential and regulated consumer information, disposition of loan pipelines, servicing rights, and portfolio and investment loans.

He is also an expert on many types of legal agreements: purchase, shareholder, operating, buy-sell, vendor service, master services, security, settlement, lease, loan, license, employment, severance, non-competition, and nondisclosure agreements. In addition, David represents clients in matters related to assignments, guaranties, and general business planning.

David’s involvement in debtor and creditor rights matters—both in and out of court—includes bankruptcies, workouts, forbearances, restructurings, wind-downs, liquidations, dissolutions, receiverships, and transactional acquisition and sale matters involving insolvent entities and their owners.

David is AV rated in Martindale Hubbell. He has been recognized in the Michigan edition of Super Lawyers® from 2010-2018, 2022, and 2023 in the practice areas of business/corporate and real estate.
